About the search estimates
This site provides straightforward access to Burden of Disease estimates for areas, diseases or age groups of your choice. Numerical estimates are provided with relevant text descriptions that aim to give meaning and assist in the interpretation of the information. Information about the quality of the estimates is provided alongside brief indicators of quality to assist in the interpreting estimates.
Quality of the estimates is a very important consideration. Detailed assessments of the relevant level of reliability for each disease are provided in a quality summary. It is recommended that the summary be read before using the estimates for any purpose.
